Preamble

Posted Sunday | Comments 1
Dear HockeyBuzz Community, Every writer lives for the moment of creative epiphany, when he or she strikes upon an idea so compelling that it must be expressed in that very instant. I had my little moment of inspiration on the morning of June 19, when I sprung out of bed at 8 in the morning with an idea for an action-packed hockey satire. An absurd bout of writing ensued...
("A Message From Gary Bettman" flashes across the screen. Happy muzak plays, cartoon bunnies frolic beneath the text. A smiley sun beams down on them from above. Fade up on...) BETTMAN (sitting at a desk, wearing a suit and a "Versus" cap. He speaks in an ingratiating singsong voice): Hi there, friends! Please, relax! I've brought a present. You see, we at...
So here it is, long-delayed and much fussed-over, the sequel to "Captain Crosby and the Penguins of Tomorrow." As an author's note, I'd like to thank everyone who's contributed a kind word or link to the first entry, including Seth Rorabaugh over at Empty Netters. For the uninitiated, please read the first part of the script first. Comments, as always, are welcome. ...
Ok, Fedoruk is on waivers. I am not surprised and I do feel that he has been given a legitimate shot to really make a positive impact on this team, but he has not. I hope he finds a home with a team that needs a little grit. He is an extremely nice guy off of the ice. I do not think he is going to get claimed unless we try to bring him back under re-entry waivers. This ...

Stars at home in San Jose!

Posted Friday | Comments 0
Long time, no write...but I had to throw in my two cents on the ridiculous non-call last night and the recaps from the San Jose Sharks Staff (website) and the AP. What a joke!!! Rivet's hit on Morrow at the end of the 1st was a clear-cut, textbook boarding penalty. Yet, neither official made the call and at least one of them was starring straight at them! I thought one...
3 hours to go ... anybody else feeling that nervous energy?!?! There is no better way to sit down at the poker table than to be given chips on the house! There is a freedom that accompanies playing with free money ... no risk to your own bank account allows for uninhibited aggression and generally (for good players) leads to a better overall game. This is the s...

Saturday Morning Coffee

Happy Saturday hooligans. http://flyerflies.com/blogs/Buts/ As usual enjoy.
I dislike the guy with a passion ... but I'm willing to give him a chance. The fact that he will be wearing green and white makes the past irrelevant, at least for now. We all know he can play the game well; he simply has to keep his mouth to a minimum. I think with Morrow in command and Hull's guidance from above, Avery can be an excellent addition to this team. This ...

opening night roster fun

Posted Thursday | Comments 4
Well alrighty.... that was a fun and interesting fiasco that was setting the final 23 (24) man roster. Not often do you see players sent down to the Oklahoma City Blazers. Especially 2 players that are NHL ready. The stars had to get their roster down to 23 before they could get the LTIR for Sergei Zubo and his hip surgury fun. Once that was granted Chris Conner, who w...
