Versus

Posted Monday | Comments 0
It's not just me is it? When watching a game on Versus you can't help but notice that the two guys in the booth talk about everything but what's happeneing on the ice. Why? Are we spoiled by great play by play guys like Jeanerette and Cole? Are the VS guys not supposed to call the game? What gives? The only folks I've spoken to who like the VS broadcast are Hurricans...
As some of you may or may not know, long time color commentator Jim Lorentz retired from the Buffalo Sabres last week after 26 years as a broadcaster and 10 years as a player with Boston, St. Louis, The New York Rangers and Buffalo Sabres leaving an opening for the seat next to legendary play by play man Rick Jeanneret who has been calling games for the Sabres since the 71...

opening night roster fun

Posted Thursday | Comments 4
Well alrighty.... that was a fun and interesting fiasco that was setting the final 23 (24) man roster. Not often do you see players sent down to the Oklahoma City Blazers. Especially 2 players that are NHL ready. The stars had to get their roster down to 23 before they could get the LTIR for Sergei Zubo and his hip surgury fun. Stars at the Break

Posted Thursday | Comments 0
The Dallas Stars are headed to the All-Star break after a solid 2 periods against the Florida Panthers. They finished the first half on a rare Florida road trip - Monday in Tampa Bay and tonight in Sunrise. The Stars had been stringing some wins and points together, but they blew a 2-1 lead late in the 3rd to the Bolts, and lost 4-2. Then tonight they skated out to play...
After watching the Rangers, and specifically Mr.Avery dismantle the stars last night, the Olympics can't come quick enough. The goals that were scored were soft, and Turco, once again didn't show up....Mike Ribeiro was accidentally shanked by Chris Higgins and will be out 4-6 weeks with a neck contusion. I don't see how showing up for the first five minutes of each ...
Just like that, Neal and Michalek score back to back within 3:17 of each other. Neal's goal was the result of good passing and the inability of Millsy to cover the far side of the net. Michalek's was the result of a deflection of his point shot off of a Buffalo d-man's leg. End result: 2-1 Pens lead. On a side note, Buffalo just took a penalty at 5:54 in the 2nd. A...
10. Patrick Laine Of all the entries on this list, Laine’s inclusion is a bit of an oddity. It’s not like the young sniper had a terrible season. He still hit the 30-plus goal plateau and finished the year with a more than respectable 50 points. It’s just his numbers could have been so much better. After a somewhat slow start to the season, Laine went absolutel...
