Let them Play!!!!

Posted Thursday | Comments 0
although it was an awesome night of playoff hockey besides Hartnell's dirty hit and im still waiting for an thought from a real nashville fan instead of the kool-aid drinkers. There is too many 5 on 3's that are determing these games too early. The Sens v Pens game was a prime example. Stop calling these phantom calls like the "Abusive language - bench" against Sens.

Game 1 musings.

Posted Friday | Comments 0
Well, the playoffs are still young, but there are still some interesting storylines that have started to develop. Senators and Penguins game 1: This was not the game that anybody expected. Many people thought that the Sens would take this one, but not in the way that they did. The thrashing that was handed out on Wednesday should not be any indication of how...
Commissioner Gary Bettman takes a lot of flack for the way he has ran and continues to run the NHL. Some of it I've always felt is undeserved. Similarly to Bud Selig and the MLB, I believe that Bettman really does things that he feels in the best interests of the league and the sport. And it's hard for me to hate someone the way plenty of fans do when I know he's got good ...

Blessed be the Peace Makers

Posted Thursday | Comments 0
I was trying to figure out what to write my next blog when my brother gave a talk on blessed be the Peace makers, when that gave me a idea on my nex t blog. So today blog is on BLESSED BE THE PEACE MAKERS. The Linesman have to brake up break up biggest fighters. People like Derek Boogaard vs Brad May or how about Andrew Peters Vs Brian McGrattan,...
With the double elbows to the head from Pronger and Neidermayer on Tomas Holmstrom, there needs to be suspensions. Both of them should get at least a game. I know Pronger got away with out being called but the replay clearly shows both of those goons elbows up at the head. Yes it could be seriously detrimental to the Ducks playoffs hopes but that is just to bad, you pl...

Duck Reaction

Posted Sunday | Comments 0
People have been jumping all over Duck's fans for complaining about the officiating. I don't recall anyone from the Ducks team complaining after game 3, though their frustration during the game was obvious. Bryan Murray, Jason Spezza, Dany Heatley, etc. were complaining to the press about the officiating after each of the first 2 games. Isn't it amazing that there have no ...

NHL Officiating

Posted Wednesday | Comments 0
Oh the NBA is crooked! That's a surprise! We've all seen Koharski and McCreary at their finest. How can you tell me these guys or on the up and up? If anyone can blatantly miss penalties or just make them up, it's these two. Maybe the NBA Snafu will open some eyes. Or, maybe not. Right Colon!

Saturday's game

Posted Sunday | Comments 0
I usually never try to blame the refs in hockey...it's a tough sport to officiate and i already assume that the refs are gonna basically suck to some extent to someone on the ice. Saturday night though...that was brutal. NHL states that a stick horizontal to the ice surface and placed into an opposing players abdomen area or higher is hooking. Any use of a stick to impe...
Different game, same story for the St. Louis Blues in their 3-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks. For the second time in as many games, the Blues had a goal disallowed at a critical juncture of the game, and this time, the marker would have been the game winner. Both times, the play was blown dead, even though the puck was in the goal and the goaltender didn't have possess...
Well, once again, I have drunk enough tequila to write a blog complaining about the NHL's inability to locate competent on ice officials to run it's games. This past week, two game deciding goals were scored on plays that should have been blown dead by one of the four on-ice officials. The first was San Jose vs Detroit. The Sharks scored a goal that clearly hit the ...
Defeat snatched from the jaws of victory as the refs blew their second Alexi Kovalev related call. The goal he swatted in was clearly above the crossbar, as his stick hit the crossbar on the follow through. I cannot imagine how the refs missed that one? It was a hell of a play, but illegal nonetheless. The second, and much worse call, was on Mike Richards for kne...
With Game 2 coming up tonight, I thought I'd share with you all my thoughts on this series, and some contentious issues that seem to be on the front burner with fans. Game 1 saw a bunch of sloppy plays, as well as a bunch of flukey goals. The Flyers 1st was a redirect...by Carey Prices' own teammate! Montreal got a lucky break on Kovalev's shorthanded marker..if he was...
I sit here, nursing a bottle of Stella Artois, watching the Belmont, and realize...I wish I had a hockey game to watch. -A lot of coaching vacancies might be waiting on the approval of the sale of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Rumor pipe says Barry Melrose will be hired for a staggering $2mm a year. If a guy who hasn't coached in almost 13 years can demand that kind of coin...

My Rant!!

Posted Wednesday | Comments 0
I don't know about anybody else, but the officiating so far this season has been absolute crap!! I have Center Ice, and I've been to a number of games this season, and it has been absolutely horrendous!! So what's different this season and why am I complaining about it now? Because tonight, there were two critical calls that cost the Sharks the game against Nashville, a...
I'm fed up!! After the Sharks loss last night to Nashville, that could have very easily been a win had the refs done their freaking job right, something has to change! This game just happens to be the last straw. I've been watching a number of games this season since I have Center Ice, and it just as bad throughout the league. In every game I've seen there have be horrendo...
Don Cherry decides that Alexander Ovechkin went overboard on his celebration. I really do not understand why this is an issue. What is wrong with a player celebrating scoring their 50th goal? Pretending his stick is hot when scoring his 50th goal for the third straight year seems to have become a crime. I say it's great for the NHL to have a superstar with character. Chara...
I normally I do not write this quick between blogs, but a mystery has occurred. I am perplexed and I need some help with a problem. Maybe some of you can help me. The Red Wings seem to think that its alright to hit and run the Ducks goalie, Hiller, and the NHL seems to agree with them. Interesting -- when is running a goalie a penalty or not a penalty? It seems that ...

MY WISH LIST

Posted Monday | Comments 1
Being a small-time blogger has it advantages, as I can pretty much say anything I want and no one cares. I know a lot of the players, but they do not know I am a blogger and do not follow me anyway. So it is not really putting myself out by saying what I wish would happen this season. But what do I know? I am just a small-time blogger, and like I said no-one is really r...
The Refs Eric Engels wrote about the differences in officiating between the regular season and the playoffs. He made a good point about how the refs seemed to have put their whistles away during some of these playoff games. I know that some people have an issue with this...and rightfully so to some degree...but from my point of view...if the competition lev...
