The Toronto Maple Leafs (10-12-4) will visit the Consol Energy Center to take on the Pittsburgh Penguins (19-8-2). This is the second meeting between these two teams this season. They first met on Oct.13, Toronto winning that game 4-3. Per Pittsburgh Post Gazette, Fleury and Gustavsson are supposed to start for their respective teams.
The Penguins will continue their home stand after defeating the New Jersey Devils by a score of 2-1 on Monday night. The current winning streak for the Penguins has them sitting atop the Eastern Conference, one point ahead of the second place Washington Capitals, and first overall in the league.
Meanwhile, the Leafs have to feel good about themselves after following up a shootout win over the Boston Bruins with a come-from-behind victory against the Washington Capitals. Beating the Penguins would make it three victories in a row.

• Evgeni Malkin continues to be stuck in a scoring slump. It’s crazy to think what this team could achieve with him playing up to his normal level. However, he is still a day-to-day decision.
• Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang lead All-Star voting for their respective positions.
• Jordan Staal should be closer to the light at the end of tunnel. His insertion into the lineup once he returns should have a domino effect on the depth chart.
• Chris Kunitz has been strong as of late. His energetic play has not only created chances, but also produced (8-9-17).
• The line of Mark Lestestu, Tyler Kennedy, and Chris Conner has had good chemistry for the Penguins since being assembled.

Notes
• Dion Phaneuf remains injured for the Leafs. His physical style, plus his hard shot on the man advantage, will be missed.
• Young defenseman Luke Schenn has been solid for the Leafs, logging over 20 minutes per game.
• Sniper Phil Kessel is Toronto’s most dangerous forward. So shutting him down will be key. However, Kessel has recorded only 2 points (1-1-2) in his last 5 games.
• The Leafs are 2-2-1 in their last 5 games
Game time is 7:00 EST and will be aired on FSN Pittsburgh, plus TSN HD for Canadian viewers.
