According to the Raleigh News and Observer, Glen Wesley wants to return next season for his 20th season. Here's what Glen had to say:
"That was definitely not the way I wanted to finish the year off," Wesley said. "I'm really looking forward to coming back and getting a fresh start and wanting to win again. That should be everybody's objective in the locker room. We have a team in there that can certainly compete for it."
It also looks like Glen will have his way and return because Jim Rutherford has no reservations about bringing him back:
"He's been a good player for us all those years and he finally got to the ultimate goal [in 2006]," Rutherford said.
"As long as there's no friction between him and the coach -- which there's not -- he's really kind of a special case. He's probably going to play as long as he wants to play."

In Scott Walker news, Carolina has apparently offered the right winger a 3 year deal at $2mil. per year. According to Walker's agent that's lower than what he feels he is worth, so he's going to test the market. Both sides admit they are not that far apart. If he is not signed by July 1st, I certainly expect him to be gone:
"We'd like to have Scott back," Hurricanes general manager Jim Rutherford said. "That's really our preference. But at the same time, if he's not signed prior to July 1, we're not going to stand in line and wait for everyone to sign somewhere else. We're going to use our money to get the best player we can."
The only way I see Walker coming back to the Hurricanes is if he doesn't get offered the $2.5mil. per year he is apparently looking for. I don't see Carolina offering this much to Walker. JR is a hard bargainer
*EDIT*
I have heard rumors that JR is allowing Walker to test the waters and told him he doesn't think he will be offered any more than $2 per year. If he is offered more JR will supposedly match any "reasonable offer" under a "gentlemen's agreement" whatever that means..I also heard Walker is getting pressure from his wife to resign in Carolina.

Those wondering whether Brett Hedican will retire before next season, it seems as though there's no clear answer. After having hip surgery last summer, he started the season but missed many games due to complications from that surgery. He's trying to recover this summer to return next season. After all, he has 2.5 million on the line. Look for him to retire if he can't recouperate this summer.
