Lindy Phillips? Duke Ruff? You decide
After enjoying the final moments of the Stanley Cup presentation (congrats to the Ducks, someday I hope to enjoy a celebration in Buffalo as well), a friend and I put on a DVD of one of our favorite television shows: The Critic. A long cancelled and mostly forgotten classic, for those of you who don't know. It's a cartoon starring the voice of Jon Lovitz as an angry, bald, fat film critic. I've been a fan of the show for years, so imagine my surprise when I noticed the main character's boss, Duke Phillips, looks suspiciously like Sabres Head Coach Lindy Ruff. It never occured to me before last night.
Off-season thoughts
Four months without hockey always seems like a long time, but as a Sabres fan I'm excited and anxious to see where everyone ends up come July 1st. I have never been this nervous about the off-season. All this talk about Drury and Briere and who to keep is driving me crazy, and I can't wait until I never have to hear about it again.
I'm also interested in seeing what the Senators are going to do as well. Aside from Alfie losing his cool in Game 4, I thought he was one of the best Sens on the ice. There were several people that didn't live up to their reputations, however, Heatly and Spezza come to mind, and several other people showed what they're made of *cough* Emery *cough* I understand you have to be at least a half-decent goalie to get as far as he did, but I give more credit to the solid D the Senators play. I also wonder if Muckler will finally get the ax. I suppose we'll see soon enough.
