Pittsburgh Penguins single game tickets went on sale to the public last Friday, creating an Internet firestorm of sorts for those interested in purchasing them. For the last few years, Pens tickets have been very hard to get, as evidenced by 200 consecutive sellouts dating back to their days in historic Mellon Arena.
I did not try to get tickets on Friday because I knew the Ticketmaster online system and the phone lines would be jammed with fans hoping to get their hands on a hot commodity item in Pittsburgh. But I did follow along to see how those trying were doing. While mostly everyone was getting tickets to at least one game even after a long wait, a few people were unhappy.
