Hello, and welcome me to Hockeybuzz. I've been a reader for awhile, mostly because the Calgary Flames writer's here are pretty good. I'm not really trying to be at their 'level' but sometimes I feel I have so much to say that I just needed a medium.
So here it goes.
First, I love that fans and media are already counting Calgary out of contention. I love how TSN only placed Iginla at 18 in the top 50. 43 goals last year? ok. Anyway, that is all good, I like being the under-dog. The Flames have improved despite what most people say. Regehr is gone, and sombody tell me who isn't Ales Hemsky, that he isn't slow, and he could keep up. Great guy, good leader, but we have plenty of those. Staos, gone. Pardy gone. It's like my dream come true. Langkow, again, great guy but he played twice, and won't finish the season. Gone. I am very happy for every move Jay Feaster made this year. Every signing, trade, and demotion.
We upgraded the D in my opinion. Got younger and faster. Perfect. Not an all-star roster, but the compitition will be great. And who else was impressed with J-Bo in the preseason? Geez, he was great. He is finally playing the game he needs to. It's like I always said about Dion Phaneuf, the guy should be a forward.
Also read today that TSN said Calgary will hurting again for offensive production. LMAO. Seriously, all we did was add another 20 goal scorer, so instead of being 7th in the league for scoring, maybe we'll be 5th. I do not understand. I seriously loath TSN.
Last, our goalie, Kipper........IF he has a good season, watch out. No seriously, if he has a good season, and we are in the top ten again for goals-for......gonna be a contender.
Laugh now................ cry later.
You're an idiot.
I agree with a lot of what you have to say but things still can go very wrong as well. The Flames basically made lateral moves this year attempting to stay competitive but they need to improve a lot more to gain on teams like Vancouver. If Feaster does make that move for Cammalleri that you suggested is on the table then that would definitely work to lighten Iginlas workload.
