Ok Hawks fans, thats what the doctor ordered!
The Hawks pretty much dominated the Jackets from the drop of the puck.
Thats twice now this season that the Hawks have lost a game 3-0 (Canes and Blues) prior to playing the Boo Jackets and went into Columbus and whipped the Jackets apart. Although this game was not perfect, it was nice to watch.
Observations:
Coach Q must have taken our conversation to heart earlier in the week when I told him that Toews and Hossa need to be on a line together, and he listened. Result, Toews nails 3 points, and he, Hossa, and Stalberg end up +3's. This line was full of energy.
The two power play goals from the second unit were nice, and Bruno showed exactly what he was brought here for, but will the pp produce against stronger teams? Will 3 D-man playing on the 2nd pp line continue to work? We'll see again tonight. It was nice and all but I am not getting excited yet.
Speaking of bad penalty kills, penalties by Car Bomb and Scott ended up in the back of the net. Q, let's get this tightened up.
Player of the Game:
Although Captain Marvel put the beloved Hawks up early, it's real tough to pick against a guy with the first Gordie Howe Hat-Trick since March of 2009, especially considering the way that Montador jumped in to Kruger's aid. Foley was all over this in the 3rd. <sidebar.> "Hey Pat your the best!
Thoughts on tonight's game against the Flames to come later.
Stay Tuned.
I got a BAD CASE OF LOVIN' YOU!!!
