I'm not saying picking Angelo Esposito would be a stupid choice for the habs, far from it. But where do they get the idea that with eleven other teams all picking before us, the habs will even have a chance at getting Angelo Esposito in a weak draft year? We all saw this before the trade deadline, teams trading first round picks away for people like Craig Rivet, god bless him but he's not worth a normal 1st round pick, not even a late pick. That having been said, having a late pick in this years draft would probably be more equivalent to an early pick in the 2nd round, when compairing with most other drafts. The talent pool is shallow in this one guys.
Either way, my prediction of the week will be that Esposito gets drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets, possibly the habs would choose Karl Alzner this season. Who could turn out to be a very solid D man. I have an odd feeling teams will be more interested in forwards this draft, with the habs being the od team out that chooses a d-man. Ryan McDonagh is in my opinion, another possible choice for the habs if Esposito and Alzner get picked early on.
In the end, I don't think Esposito will even come close to the availability the habs will be expecting, he'll probably go in the top 7.
