This is my first hockeybuzz blog so please don't be too critical. There have been all sorts of rumors swirling around the Flyers lately, and rightfully so as they are usually players come trade deadline time. This year has started off no differently as they have already made two moves. While I agree that there are some things that need to be addressed, i feel that now is not the time to address them. Ed Snider, for all he has done for hockey in this city, needs to change his win now mantra. This Flyers team is one of the youngest Flyers teams i can remember in quite some time. With youth comes growing pains, mistakes, and losses. On paper there is enough to be contenders, that's on paper though. This team needs to grow together, learn from the veterans that have been brought in, and most importantly stay together. It reminds me of the 1995 Detroit Red Wings. A good team, played good hockey when it counted but came up just short. That team was kept together, with a few tweeks here and there, and two years later came back and blew the barn doors off my Flyers, then repeated the following year. Point being, there were allowed to grow together. I commend Paul Holmgren for blowing last years team apart. It needed to be done. Just be smart and not blow this team apart, let it grow. We all want that parade down Broad Street, but i will wait a year or two and trade one parade for many.
