Cam Neely 2. OH NO!

Cam Neely played hockey with the Ridge Meadows Hockey Association for the majority of his minor career and has been named to the Maple Ridge honorable people list. After a stellar season with the Portland Winter Hawks of the Western Hockey League in which he led the team to the Memorial Cup Championship, he was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks ninth overall in the 1983 entry draft. He played three seasons with the Canucks in very limited ice time before being traded along with a draft pick (1st choice, 3rd overall in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft, to the Boston Bruins for Barry Pederson.
Cody Hodgson played at the major junior level for four seasons with the Brampton Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). After being selected 10th overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Canucks, Hodgson won the William Hanley Trophy (OHL's most sportsmanlike player), Red Tilson Trophy (OHL player of the year) and the CHL Player of the Year Award, as well as First Team All-Star honours for the 2008–09 season. While training in the 2009 off-season, Hodgson suffered a back injury that required a year for him to fully recover after being misdiagnosed by the Canucks training staff.
Hodgson has represented Canada at two International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF)—sanctioned events, winning gold and leading tournament scoring at both—the 2008 IIHF World U18 Championships and 2009 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. In 2007, he won a gold medal with Ontario at the Canada Games.
Today he was traded to Buffalo for Zack Kassian who had problems cracking a 25th place Sabres lineup.
Cody is 5th in rookie scoring with 33 points in 63 games averaging only 12:44 minutes of ice time per game.
Zack is tied for 41st with 7 points in 27 games averaging 11:56 minutes of ice time per game.
I weep for the future of the Vancouver Canucks. A cup and only a cup will ease the pain of giving away a Cam Neely type player twice. I am very afraid that this and the Roberto Luongo albatross contract will be the legacy of GM Mike Gillis.
