The Nashville Predator story keeps getting richer and more juicy every passing instant. Gary Bettman approached "Boots" DiBaggio and made an offer that would make even Tony Soprano proud......
Simply put, "Boots" would get exclusive rights to the Predators, at a price set by the national hockey league, and would get unianimous BOG approval to move the team at the next BOG meeting. Why?? Is it to get rid of the meddlesome Basille, a figure already larger then anyone in the owners boxes of NHL arenas? NO.....
This is all about Americanization and Bettman, and moreso about making yet more money for his bosses coffers. The NHL will expand in 2008/2009 according to a league source to include Hamilton and Las Vegas at an expansion cost believed to be around 230 million US dollars. Here's where it gets fun...
"Boots" would forfeit KC's expansion money to Leoipold, as well as agree to pay the nhl a "City Transfer fee", believed to be 12 million dollars (who would then give said fee directly to Leipold as part of this arrangement). 7 Million in expansion money plus 12 million in "Transfer fees" brings Leoipolds price for the preds to 211Mil. Baisillles deal was to be worth 228-234 million depending on who you believe. But there is one more thing "Boots" has agreed to to further sweeten the pot.....
Craig Leoipold would also recieve 10 % ownership of the KC team, arena and holdings(Potentially making the deal bigger then Basille's).Gary Bettman and the BOG have determined that Jim Bassille should get a team. They have also agreed that team should NOT be a ready made threat to both Buffalo and Toronto, but a team that will very much resemble the Coyotes now....
So there it is folks....Bettman arranges an even more watered down league, more expansion and transfers into hockey hotbeds that think icing is preparing ice for their margarittas, and Basille still gets his team in Hamilton, albeit it an horrible expansion variety that he'll have to build from the ground up that will not pose a treat to the Buffalo or Toronto markets for years to come, and the NHL owners continue to laugh their asses straight to the bank....
I never miss any of the hockey games as CBD Oil for Inflammation I am very much interested in this sport and I felt that NHL is one of the best options for hockey lovers as you will get updates of the game through this page.
