After a rather slow start to this short season, the Kings have started to show some signs of the team it was during the playoff run.
In a battle of Western Conference heavyweights on Monday evening at Staples, the Kings found themselves down in a 2-0 hole late in the middle frame. Nevertheless, they stuck with the program, continued to push hard and found a way to win. The name of the program, "bend but not break". It worked during the 16-4 run to the cup and it is starting to work once again for the battle-tested bunch from LA.
Of course, with a goalie like Jonathan Quick, the Kings are truly never out of a game, nor should they be.
Still, I would like to see the Kings shoot a little more. It really can't hurt to throw more rubber at the twine.
I also must apologize for a spelling mistake I made in my previous entry, calling Matthew Barry "Berry". Which brings me to my next point. I had read his blog posted earlier today paraphrased by the words "What Happened Vancouver?" or something along those lines.
Now, I do get a kick out of some of the things he writes, but I happened to notice all of the negative feedback he received as a result of his rant against the Canucks. I will admit, that I also cannot stand the Canucks, and offer refer to them as choke artists also, similar to the Oakland A's of the early 2000's. To have all the necessary pieces in place to win a championship yet still find ways to blow it all apart somehow. So, I know how that feels.
Meanwhile, back to Mr. Barry and his post which many called juvenile, or senseless jargon. I happened to read one comment that this site has "never had someone good to blog about the Kings." Well, I will strive to be that person, which is why I wanted to get started writing again on this site about a team that all seemed forgotten to the rest of the NHL blogging world. But in defense of Mr. Barry, he does have some insight on the team, and every now and then, will post a pretty good read.
My thoughts on Jonathan Quick is still poignant. I still think Jonathan Bernier needs a chance to play and to show his potential. Every time Quick plays, it increases the chances of re-aggravating his back and lowers Bernier's trade value this off-season which I am sure the Kings will most certainly do. Quick is by far the #1 option in net, and easily gives you the best chance to win on every night. Still, in a short season like this, it would be foolish to continue to have Bernier ride the pine. With that in mind, I hope he gets the chance to play Thursday against Nashville, who is also having a miserable time scoring. Quick deserves a rest, and since Bernier has started a few times in the past against Nashville and has owned them, I couldn't think of a better time to give Quick the night off.
I must also praise play of Jake Muzzin, Kyle Clifford, Jordan Nolan and Davis Drewiske. Without these guys, the Kings would really be struggling. It also shows the depth that I originally did not think the Kings had at one time, especially cutting ties with former first round pick Thomas Hickey.
As for me personally, I like Kyle Clifford the most, from gameplay to appearance. I still follow her and always love Kyle Clifford. Your shared quite is good. I'm also trying to practice my foreign language skills to write good reviews like this. if you do not have difficulty, choose a game to practice your English ability. I would recommend 2 games I really like. quordle and waffle game . I'm playing both of these games to practice my English.
