Anaheim GM has already made in clear in the exit interviews he plans to shake up his team for 2014. Having already signed Getzlaf and Perry to big contracts, it would seem the scariest times are over.
But...
Can Anaheim weather the storm if Selanne and Koivu hang 'em up? Many consider that Selanne was too tired this shortened season to continue for one more year. Koivu could leave as well, just as easily. As for Hiller...
With Fasth's emergence as a potential 1B goalie and Hiller's decline since his stint with vertigo, plus the fact that the Ducks have two other goalies (Andersen, Bobkov) in the system that could handle a backup position in the NHL easily, Hiller becomes expendable next year. His 4.5 mil cap hit ends next year, but we could see him moved as early as the Trade Deadline if not sooner.
Need I even mention the stellar performance of John Gibson lately? I could see him becoming the next Lundqvist or Quick, the NHL's premier goaltender.
Those are my thoughts, thanks for reading and comment
Nice reports
