There seems to be some debate on whether it's a better draft strategy to draft for organizational need or draft the best available player.
If you look back to the 2010 NHL draft (Taylor vs. Tyler) the Oilers had to choose between the best available player (Taylor Hall) and the player who filled an organizational need (Tyler Seguin). Oiler fans were divided as both team Taylor and team Tyler made strong cases for their player to be drafted. On draft day fans gathered to see whether the team would draft the best available player or the organizational need. When it came time to make the pick the Oilers would go with the best available player (Taylor Hall).
Three years have passed since that draft and it appears the Oilers made the right decision by drafting Taylor over Tyler.
Taylor Hall - GP-171 / G-65 / A-80 / PTS-145
Tyler Seguin - GP-203 / G-56 / A-65 / PTS-121
Taylor Hall has quickly become a fan favorite and a leader on and off the ice. He is blossoming into a true power forward with a knack for scoring goals. While Tyler Seguin has put up solid numbers, it appears the Boston media is already questioning whether Seguin is worthy of a top six roll with the Bruins.

I for one hope the Oilers draft the best available player no matter what position he plays rather than draft for organizational need.
If Sequin had the playing time that Hall had his numbers would be greater.
Trade Seguin to Toronto please!!
Fuk Boston, Leafs need Seguin!
