The New York Islanders come home from a road trip that was not to friendly to them playing 4 games and losing all 4 to gain not a single point. The Islanders who lost to Washington, Carolina, Columbus and Montreal respectfully and are actually the favorite to win due to the Nashville Predators coming to town who have lost their past 2 games and also being shut out in both of them. The poor play has come from the same area the Islanders are having difficult in which is the defensive zone giving up 10 goals in the past 2 games versing the Devils and the Jets. The Islanders tonight will not be with Thomas Vanek, Lubomir Visnovsk and also Brian Strait. The goaltenders tonight will be Kevin Poulin who will start for the first time this season that is not part in a back to back showing this may be the end of the starting job for Evgeni Nabokov and in the visitors net will be Marek Mazanec who takes over for Pekka Rinne who is out due to an E. Coli infection and the backup Carter Hutton due to poor play. I will be in attendance tonight so will be able to watch 1st hand and comment tomorrow after the game.
