Jay Feaster is now out as the Calgary Flames GM. As well as assistant general manager, John Weisbrod. The Flames went 92-80-33 under Feaster since the 2010-2011 season, failing to make the playoffs, yet staying over .500. Brian Burke, President of Hockey made the decision Thursday morning, where he then called a meeting for nearly everyone in the organization. Players said they were surprised at the decision. Ironically, Feaster's dismissal came two days after the first return game of former, longtime captain, Jarome Iginla, who now plays for the Boston Bruins. Iginla was the first piece of the rebuilding process when he was traded last season on March 27th in a controversial move to the Pittsburgh Penguins. It was speculated that he was going to the Boston Bruins, but later ended up with the Penguins. Jay Feaster started the rebuilding process last season by also getting rid of stay at home defensemen, Jay Bouwmeester & bringing in personality, Brian Burke. Ultimately the Flames had other plans; Feaster was also part of the rebuild. The Calgary Flames are 11-15-4 this season.
