Chicago Blackhawks on the Other Side TOR 7 vs. CHI 3

For three straight games the Chicago Blackhawks scores 6+ goals in a game. The game against the Toronto Maple Leafs had a different story line to it. This match up was also about answering. The Maple Leafs answered the Blackhawk's goal 2 out of their 3. The first time Patrick Kane's second period goal was answered by Nikolai Kulemin 1:21 later. Next it was Phil Kessel answering on Brandon Saad's goal in the third period :57 seconds after Saad scored. Living in Chicago and being a Blackhawks fan, i'm not going to lie, I was very disappointed on the call of no goal when Dion Phaneuf scored his 2nd goal of the game for Chicago. Yes I said Phaneuf scored for the Hawks. But its not how it sound. Phaneuf deflected the first goal of the game for Chicago, which ended up being credited to Patrick Kane. Then he batted another puck into his own net, which did go off of Marian Hossa's glove before hitting Phaneuf's stick. Referee Tim Peel decides that the play is unreviewable and the call on the ice stands as no goal. Another story in the game was Chicago giving the Leafs 3 power plays in the first 7:24 of the game. The Hawks penalty kill wasn't too hot either. The Maple Leafs went 2-4 on the PP. After the second period Antti Raanta is pulled and Kent Simpson comes in. Reminder: Starter Corey Crawford, and original backup Nikolai Khabibulin are both out with injuries. Kent Simpson comes in for the start of the third and its not a good one. Simpson gives up his first goal against in the NHL to Joffrey Lupul :28 seconds in. Nice gestures called by Chicago Blackhawks voice Pat Foley, that the 1st line of the Hawks comes out and all give Simpson a pat on the pads demonstrating that they are still with him. After that goal Simpson only gave up one more goal to Phil Kessel where that games ended at the final score of 7-3 Toronto. The Toronto Maple Leafs have given up 44GA (goals against) in their last 11 games, including last night. Chicago gives up 7 goals for the second time this season, and both to underrated teams to go against the defending Stanley Cup champs. Furthermore, this was the first game that stared Leafs forward David Clarkson's suspension. Clarkson was suspended two games.
