Just moments before news broke with the firing of Winnipeg Jets head coach Claude Noel, I finished and submitted a blog stating that GM Kevin Cheveldayoff needed to make a move to appease Jets fans. Looks like he'd seen enough too after last night's poor showing and the home town team getting booed off the ice.
Now enter Paul Maurice, who has coached the Leafs and Hurricanes(2 occasions) and has over 1000 career NHL gamed coached and still only 46 years of age. When coaching the Hurricanes he got the best out of his players, getting them to the Stanley Cup finals once and the Eastern conference finals another time. His time in Toronto wasn't the greatest, but I'm sure it helped him deal with the Canadian reporters, which will be needed with his new job.
Kevin Cheveldayoff has just used his mulligan. This coaching replacement today if the first significant move he has made in his tenure with the Jets and lots of fans so far are happy he actually did something. There are plenty of quality players on the team, it just seems the quantity isn't there and hopefully Paul Maurice is able get the most out of this group.
If the team continues there current losing streak , then it is time to shake up the core of your team and start making some deals. Rumours have been a plenty with some of the Jets players and would bring back a good return should those players be moved. Change isn't a bad thing and today is a first step to getting the franchise going in the right direction.
All the best to Claude Noel and good luck to you Paul Maurice. Winnipeg fans know there hockey and you'd better bring your A-game.
Al these details about hockey games are so good. And I know that you are sharing the most relevant part of it. That is the reason why I would love to read all the US CDC posts from your page continuously.
