This afternoon, WGR's Jeremy White has posted that Buffalo Sabres general manager, Tim Murray, "let slip" that he is discussing a deal with Ottawa Senators GM, Bryan Murray. No specifics on who it involves on either side but Sabre fans may want to review young players in the Ottawa organization. Tim Murray has stated that he is looking for young prospects amongst all the trade deadline talks and is obviously familiar with the players on his former team. Players to review may actually be on the Binghamton Senators roster; players that Murray has scouted at one time or another. Players that fans may want to research are Matt Hoffman and Matt Puempel. Hoffman is currently second in AHL scoring, something that will be useful for the Sabres. Trade discussions with Ottawa are not surprising based on Tim Murray's prior involvement and knowledge of the players in that organization. I would not expect Erik Karlsson or Bobby Ryan to be coming here anytime soon.
