As many know, the Ryan Miller/Steve Ott trade yielded a conditional draft pick for the Sabres. If situations arise where GM Tim Murray can use the Blue's 2014 first round pick, the scouting staff better be prepared. As there is a dire need at the wing position, Alex Tuch, a winger in the U.S National Develpment Program, should be on watch. I have not seen much of what he can do yet but his size helps (6'3", 218 lbs). Elite Prospects.com describes him as an "impressive forechecker" who skates well. The numbers appear to be improved this year (12+9 in 18 games) and he is connected to Boston College. Since he plays in the U.S., he will have playing in the AHL as an option, which does not hurt. That does not mean he is ready so Murray will have to learn for himself as far as hockey sense goes.
