1. Chris Kunitz: The winger has been a mainstay as a top-6 forward for years, and has produced greatly for the Penguins in that span. But Kunitz hasn't scored a goal in nine games, and that needs to change. If he can get in front of the net more frequently, then his production will go up noticeably. He is an important veteran piece for Pittsburgh heading into the stretch run. If he can bump up his performance in the coming games, then more Penguins wins will come.
2. Beau Bennett: Beau Bennett has an abundance of potential, but the injury bug has bit him constantly since his full time arrival in the NHL. Now he is fully healthy, and able to produce. But he isn't. And the main reason for that is lack of a consistent line. Coach Mike Johnston has shuffled Bennett around a lot, and the result is him playing with multiple different players. If Bennett can sit down and grow chemistry with one line (preferably the third line), then his scoring will go up, and thus Johnston's confidence in the young forward will skyrocket.
3. Zack Sill: The fourth line winger's job is to be aggressive on the boards and play good defense, not score goals. He does his job well, but as a forward, he needs to put up more points. One of the reasons for Pittsburgh's drop in the standings is lack of depth. That means that the fourth line scoring has been down. That absence of output from the lower line is attributed to Sill. In 40 games this season, Sill has a total of two points. TWO points. That is incredibly low. If he can up his production this year, Pittsburgh's offense will be better off.
Sid hasnt been producing for fuck all lately...how does he not make the list?
Because Sid doesnt deserve to be on this list.
remove bennett and add sutter. 3.3M to be one of the worst forwards on the team.
