I realize that last year at this time I said the same thing I am this year. In my head it all makes sense; The Nuge, Hall, Yak City, now McJesus as he has been so eloquently dubbed by Oiler fans. How lucky are we to have all those great players assembled onto one roster? Very!

Having a whole bunch of great players does not guarantee you success, but having a great management often does. Not to mention adding a generational player into the equation. In my opinion Peter Chiarelli has done everything he can, short of trading one or more of their highly skilled upside talent. Chia Pete comes out as one of the smartest guys in the room because he really didn't do anything controversial to put a bee in the bonnet of die hard Oiler fans. He simply added players around what he has and chose not to re-sign certain players.

So here it is the Perfect Swarm to polish off a potential winning team;
1) Hand the reigns to one of the smartest hockey people in the world in Bob Nicholson.
2) Draft possibly the best talent to come in 30 years.
3) Sign Chia Pete.
4) Fire a lot of people.
5) Build a brand new crazy awesome arena.
6) Unveil a GREAT alternate jersey.

I say well done, and for the first time since '06 I am allowed to be excited again. rnAnd maybe hopefully this is the year I will be able to go to work and not be made fun of for being an Oiler fan....well...less I guess.
