Let me start this out like this. I am not a professional writer, I do not want to be.rnrnNow that's out of the way.rnrnWhat a lack luster start the NHL season on Wednesday night as the Chicago Blackhawks raised yet another Stanley Cup banner in a 4-2 loss on home ice to the New York Rangers. Not a single home team won that night home ice is not what it used to be. We got maybe 60 seconds of Coverage on ESPN no national TV for the banner raising, I mean come on NHL I know you are the lowest of the 4 major sports but show your Stanley Cup Champion on National TV (not everyone has NBCSN) to gain more of an Audience. rnrnThe Nashville Predators got an opening night win a 2-1 victory over the Hurricanes, and it was the same story as last year Fast start for the Preds and then a play not to lose attitude. This team is good very good, but you have to play petal to the metal for all 3 periods. It must be a Tennessee thing as most teams here in the state can't seem to finish, thankfully the Preds did finish. Lets hope someone in that Locker room gets it cause as a fan i don't want to see games like that again this year.rnI was pleasantly surprised to see the new faces (Jackman, Hodgson)play well and even contribute. rnTonight we play the Oilers and Connor McOverated in the Bridge in the first ever GOLD Saturday, expect a sold out crowd and alot of GOLD, and maybe #9 can punch a few in tonight rnrnI look forward the year, I am obviously a Predators fan , but most of a Hockey fan and will blog on all things Hockey
