Last night the Minnesota Wild announced that they have hired Bruce Boudreau as there new head coach. Boudreau went 409-192-80 (.659) in 9 seasons as the head coach of the Anaheim Ducks and Washington Capitals. Boudreau contact with Minnesota is 4yrs just under 3 million a year.
Today the Ottawa Senators have announced Guy Boucher as the clubs next head coach. Boucher has agreed to a 3yr contract with the Sens. Boucher becomes the 12th head coach in Senators franchise history. Boucher has spent the last 3 seasons as the head coach of SC Bern of the National League A in Switzerland posting a 44-29-5 record in that span. Guy Boucher also coached the Tampa Bay Lightning for 2 season posting a 97-78-20 record in 195 games with the Bolts. Boucher lead the Bolts to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2010-11 season.
In the Senators Media release Owner Eugene Melnyk Said this “Following a detailed evaluation of all coaching candidates, there was overwhelming consensus that Guy was our top candidate."
