It's hard not to agree that the canucks are stacked on defence. This season coming should be a good one for goals against with these pairings: Bieksa-Mitchell Ohlund-Salo Krajicek-Miller/Bourdon. the canucks defence last season combined for the most goals by a blueline in the league. Bieksa and Mitchell were spectactular last season establishing a name for themselves as a strong, steady pairing. The canucks have some bright propects in Luc Bourdon who could crack the roster this season, Alex Edler who is a reliable callup, Nathan McIver a tough d-man, Taylor Ellington a Victoria native drafted in the 2nd round 07, Patrick Coloumbe a speedy offensive who needs to get bigger and stronger if he wants to make it big and then theres Kirill Koltsov who has been trying to make the club for the past few years. The canucks have a bright future on Defence. Some say they are stacked for the next 10 years. Who knows, we will have to see.
have to imagine that one of the top 4 will be dealt by january
Manitoba is going to be killer this year - hopefully, they can get Schneider in the lineup there soon. It would be great to have those young guys in the bigs in a few years with lots of minor-pro playoff experience under their belts. If the Canucks get off to a great start this year, I wouldn't be surprised to see Nonis pull off one of those trades everybody *cough*Eklund*cough* keeps predicting. I can't see Nonis taking a gamble this early in the year, though, unless it is a sweet deal (and who would do a deal like that at this point?).
And you even had Rory almost on the all-star team....where is Rory playing this year?
Kirill Koltsov who has been trying to make the club for the past few years? More like the Canucks wish they could pry him out of Russia to play for us...
hey man, Nice blog...I agree our defense is going to be a stone wall this year. I'd be surprised if anyone scores!!! Sure hope we get that much neede scorer. Nice work.
