Well it's hump day here in good ol' Richmond Virginia and about 95 degrees. The last thing anyone would be expecting to here from Virginia is a blog about hockey, so might as well be the first. I have been a Ranger fan for life and blue and red has always coursed through my veins. I have spent countless days this preseason searching for the latest free agent and trade rumours to the point of insanity. Like most of you Ranger fans I was sceptical at first on the pick ups of Gomez and Drury. But after spending some reflection time, I must say I am becoming more and more accepting of the fact that they will be playing for us. There are too many possible line combinations to ponder so I will leave that to Renney and the coaching staff. As time passed by, the next wave was the resigning of Lundquist, Avery and Hossa in which I am happy to have them back. The Lundquist deal could have been done cheaper but oh well hopefully come January Slats can work up a long term chaeper contract to keep the King in town. Now that the Peca deal has been put to rest we still have that third line hole. I am thinking listening to the articles on Artem Anisimov and am thinking he might be the best fit over Dubinsky. i know Dubinsky has more NHL experience wise than Anisimov but I think that he will generate that needed scoring punch, work ethic, and energy that the third line can bring. What do you guys think? To close, I would like to say that I have been to many Ranger games in my life in Washington, Greensboro(where the Canes used to play), and San Jose but never have experienced the MSG experience other than on tv. So me my dad, brother and a few co-workers (one who is a Devils fan) have a trip setup to watch the Rangers play the Devils on November 3rd. I can't think of a better 1st trip to MSG than on a train bound for Penn Station in business class and then watching the Rangers kick the hell out of the Devils. If anyone wants to chat w/ me I will be in Section 126 row B w/ my brand new authentic Avery Blue Reebok Edge jersey hopefully chanting MARTY, MARTY, MARTY and not WEEKES, WEEKES, WEEKES. Jamie signing off, "LET'S GO BLUE!!!"
