I know this is a hockey website, however I also know that many who read and contribute to this site are also sports fans in general. I thought it was important to make note of the tragedy that struck the NFL, and all of the sports world this past Sunday when Kevin Everett was carried off the field on a stretcher, without any noticable movement. It has been announced that Everett is more than likely paralyzed. I simply wanted to post this to ask everyone to send their thoughts and prayers out to Kevin Everett and his family.
It is cliche I know, but we truly are not grateful for everything we have, and take for granted things as simple as the ability to walk and move our limbs. Once again, I think we should remember the grave risks the players we cheer on take when they hit the ice, field, etc. They do it for themselves sure, but they also give 100% for all of us. Get well Kevin!!!
Amen brother. They are all playing contact sports and sometimes the unimaginable happens, as did Kevin Everett. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family and to the whole Buffalo community. SYF
Yes its terrible when a freak accident like this occurs not only do you have to feel for the guy but feel for his family.
I was at the game and it was one of the worst moments I have ever experienced in my entire life. The atmosphere in the stadium drastically changed and it made my friends and I realize how unimportant the outcome of the game actually was. My heart goes out to the entire Everett family during this difficult time.
Amen to that. such a horrible situation and puts a pit in my stomach every time i think of it. my thoughts and prayers are with everett, his family, and friends
I would have to agree with you all. Watching that game on Sunday made me realize how fragile life is and how unimportant the outcome of the game is. After watching that game, I was unable to watch the rest of the games on Sunday. Last night, I watch two drives of the Bengals/ Ravens game and I caught myself cringing several times when a guy would make a tackle. That game Sunday has completely changed the way I watch football and quite possibly hockey. Cup Crazy '07 you are right on with this blog. It was a must post writeup. My thoughts and prayers are with Kevin Everett and his family and friends.
That was a horrible situation to witness. My thoughts and prayers are with Kevin Everett and his family, and I hope he pulls through, and, against all odds, will walk again.
I heard on the news at 10 that he can move his legs or arms (don't remember which), which is the best news anyone could have hoped for.
