Since my team the Carolina Hurricanes started floundering and eventually missed the playoffs, I made it a point to help some people out (including myself) and made a spreadsheet of the free agents that should make it a little easier to figure out who exactly is out there to be had.
Over the last couple years I had to hunt down websites that had some of the free agents, but I was never able to find them all, in a simple sortable way. Scoop was kind enough to host the excel file on his website:
http://hockeyscoop.net/freeagents.xls
Hopefully this should be all of them and I'm continually updating this excel sheet, but those who wish can update it and change it around to their liking. Finally I'm able to sort to see all of the restricted and unrestricted free agents under a particular team, position, salary, etc.
I've also included update columns to show when someone signs a new deal with the amount of the deal (if available) and the amount and % increase or decrease in that player's salary. Should be interesting to see what the trend will be...
Maybe Hurricanes should have let Aho sign with the habs. Hurricanes will probably be bankrupt after this NON season and possible no season next year. 36% of the normal team revenues come on average from the fan base. The Hurricanes do not have that fan base only way they could have broken even this year is if they made the playoffs and won at least one or two rounds.
After reading this book for the first time, it stayed with me for a long time. It was a pleasure talking with you, retro bowl and I look forward to reading more of your work in the future!
