Marleau trade rumors abound, but what about Cheechoo. Granted he is on IR right now, but he has been more useless than Marleau and is getting paid a lot of dough. Both of these guys seem out of it. If the Sharks were smart, they would deal Cheechoo before the league realizes that he scored all those goals thanks to the best player in the league, Joe Thornton. I'm afraid the league may already know. The Sharks have forwards and then need D (of any kind) and some grit up front.
I know Cheechoo is stinking in up, but when he comes off the IR, you have to give him a shot to prove himself first before deciding to trade him. I know he has been very unproductive lately, but I think you should give him a try before trading him. And I do not mind keeping him a scratch when he is healthy again if Joe's linemates are producing.
Got to give the guys some leeway. He had double sports hernia surgery in the summer. He hardly had time to stay or get into conditioning. Besides Cheechoo has always played better in the New year.
I hear you guys..Whatever the case may be, I feel he's expendable. I just think this team really needs some grit/heart and some good D. Why Curtis Brown hasn't been playing is beyond me? He's way better than Goc, errr, Gooch....Thoughts?
