How I got Started Watching Hockey

I must admit, I am new to hockey. I started really watching hockey after the lockout. I always did like the sport, but never new how the game was played with the rules and such not and found it very hard to follow that puck on the tv. About seven years ago I met this lady, who this June will become my better half, who is a BIG flyers fan and, once we were able to afford the better cable packagem, started watching the Flyers play on a regular basis. She was able to inform me on how the game was played. Now she says that I stole her thunder because I'm a bigger Flyers / hockey fan than she is. How did you guys/gals get started in watching Hockey?
