First off, I'd just like to say this is my first time blogging.... so bear with me please!
So home ice advantage goes to the New Jersey Devils over the New York Rangers. For the first two games, the Devils have a stronger opportunity to take a 2-0 series lead than the Rangers do, and apparently a stronger opportunity to take the series.
But think about it this way....
Let's just say, as a Ranger fan, best case scenario would be the Rangers taking the first two on the road. Now, the Rangers gain the home ice advantage to sweep the series!
Now I know this is unlikely thinking, and best case as a Rangers fan... but why does it seem like people feel that the team with home ice advantage really has that much more of a chance of winning? Because they play one more home game out of a potential 7 game series? Home ice advantage isn't a lock that the home team will take a 2-0 series lead by any means.
