This is an open letter to ask the "loyal" fans of the Montreal Canadiens.
How can you fans be confident with Carey Price proclaimed as the future of this storied franchise? Carey was shaky at best in this series. His lack of confidence was shattered that much more by the decision of Jack Adam's Award finalist Guy Carbonneau, to bench him for the service of Halak in game 4.
The Flyers have now faced your ex-goalie Huet and Price in the first 2 rounds and successfully sent each of them home dreanched in their own tears. After watching and studying each series Huet was by far the better goalie, even playing with a far inferior defensive corps.
Going into game 5, there was much hype about the confidence that Price had regained and we would see as the series shifted back to Montreal. How can a goalie have confidence heading into one of the biggest games of his life, and switch his catching glove? Never have I heard of a goalie that is confident and at the same time switching gloves, sounds like a lack of that confidence to me.
So in my final thoughts I ask the question, how confident are you in this "young stud" being proclaimed as the future of your franchise and going to lead your team to big things? Heading into next year, if the habs can not sign the free agent Huet, I believe they should start the season with 6 forwards on the ice and an empty net. At least the empty has a better glove hand than Carey.
