The Blues applied their best pressure of the series late in the second period last night. They tied the score at 2-2 with two goals and again had the puck in front of the net and close to the goal line. Luongo never appeared to have the puck covered as it was sliding around in the crease area and eventually crossed the line and into the net.
It was ruled that the puck had crossed the line but the referee had had the intent of blowing the play dead before this happened.
Andy Murray himself said that it clearly should have been a goal while he was a guest on Kevin Slaten's radio show (1380AM).
The Blues lost the game 3-2 in the last minute of the first overtime.
Luongo's pad was pushed into the net (watch in slo-mo)...so no goal was the correct call. As for Murray, he still thinks the Blues can beat the Canucks and doesn't see the reality. I'm sure that call was the only reason the Blues lost the series. C'mon, this whining takes all the good away from how well the Blues played. They're not good enough yet.
Wow, get over it...they gave your team the mojority of power plays which we could look into that alone...as well 6 minutes in over time and they couldn't do crap....blame the disallowed goal for you losing the series if it makes you feel better.
I never complained about the goal in any way. I was simply reporting what Mr. Murray had to say regarding the goal and I wanted to clear up any confusion on why the goal was disallowed. Thanks for the comments.
It doesn't matter if his pad was pushed in, the puck was clearly alive and it clearly crossed the line. It should have been a goal. I'm not saying that this disallowed goal cost the Blues this series, because in fact if we had won game 4 we would have probably lost in Vancouver in game 5. Just saying, the Blues should have lived to play one more game...
Rune...4 minutes of the 6 minutes of power play was a High Stick that Cut Weaver near his eye. the other 2 was on a hook on the Canucks that took a man out of the play when the Nucks clearly had an advantage. You have to call both of them. The roughing call on Colaiacavo was a makeup call, and the Blues didnt make any other mistakes.
Give me a break the pounding a players head on the ice was not as bad as hooking? Take off the blues shades.
