I didn't expect much from Philly on day 1. Their big splash was made with the Pronger trade at the draft and quite frankly he was the biggest impact player to move over the last week.
Boucher is a great backup goalie can dominate and is a great insurance policy in case Emery is not the goalie he was a few years back. Ian Lapierre is a hard nose tough player that makes the Flyers better for 2 reasons. First he is a good face-off man and he can play against the other teams best players. Second he is tough and can fight (as can Pronger and Carcillo) which should keep Cote off the Flyers roster this year. Cote is a liability on the ice at all times.
I am looking for a 3rd line winger like Recchi or Fedetenko in the next day or so. Someone that can play a good checking role and maybe chip in some goals.
