Alex Tanguay has been signed by the Phoenix Coyotes. It has been league approved and should be announced sometime today, likely this afternoon. Tanguay had a difficult year in Montreal, where he was injury riddled but still managed to put up decent numbers despite a lack of ice time. Tanguay's name bounced around the league a few times in an effort propelled by tanguay himself to find not only a hockey team, but a hockey city. A place where the fans would enjoy the game and not just go because they had tickets and felt like drinking. He may not have found that in fact not that Coyote's fans don't like hockey but i'll tell you this, THEY'RE NO HOCKEY HOTBED. In the positive category Tanguay brings a good style of game that should fit well with Phoenix. He can score but he is also a great setup man which should help the likes of the young players like Boedker and possibly Kyle Turris. He also adds some support to Shane Doan who's been virtually doing it himself with Ed Jovanovski in the veteran department. Overall, Tanguay should be a great fit in Phoenix and with a little goaltending they may be a surprise team this year!
