The news came today that Jay Pandolfo and Paul Martin are both expected to miss 4-6 weeks. Pandolfo's shoulder seems more serious, as although a timetable has been given, GM Lou Lamoriello admits he is not certain when Pando will return. Martin's forearm fracture will really hurt the Devils, as they lose, arguably, their best (defensive) defenseman. Cory Murphy will be recalled from Lowell to take his place.
Not all is bad, however. Patrik Elias should be back soon, and he would give the Devils a huge boost behind the ZZ Pop line. Pandolfo had been playing well, but lets remember that he is no Elias. He was even a healthy scratch for the team in a few games. Also, Mike Mottau is expected to play Wednesday night versus Buffalo. These injuries are unfortunate, but the Devils have what it takes to overcome them.
