There is some news circulating around Edmonton that has the capability of drowning the hearts of every Oil fan out there..... Hemsky possibly done for the year. Today after the Oilers practice in Sherwood Park, Pat Quinn was unable to specify on the credibility of this rumor, but what we do know is that Hemmer was not at the practice today and will not be playing tonight against the San Jose Sharks.
As per Dan Tencer's twitter today rumor has it that Hemsky will need season ending surgury on his shoulder after being hit awkwardly in the Los Angeles game, but this is apparently new news to Pat Quinn.
Despite what the outcome could be Oiler fans, prepare yourselves for the worst. The loss of Ales Hemsky will no doubt send this team spiralling all the way down to Taylor Hall or Tyler Seguin land.... a little light at the end of the tunnel, but in the meantime, we still have 57 games to kringe and complain as we watch our beloved team underachieve and tempt us to start cheering for our provincial rivals. Let's hope this is just a rumor.
