After waiting all afternoon Darcy Regier FINALLY signed a player the Sabres were looking for, a puck moving dman that can play the point. This of course is
Jordon Leopold. With 26 points (11+15) he will be a huge asset to this club, whose divsion got stronger with the signing of Gonchar in Ottawa.
Next item on the Sabres list is a center, and a center you could get at a good price is
Mathew Lombardi. The Coyotes have made it clear they will not be bringing him back because they have resigned and moved Wojtek Wolski from winger to center. The Sabres need to persue this. He's a good center who had 53 points (19+34), 2nd on the Coyotes in points. Logging almost 18 minutes of ice, and with a great face off percentage of 49% he's what the Sabres will be looking for.
Lombardi is creative, has good vision, and a decent size listed at 6'0 195 lbs. His ability to get the puck in the offensive zone is something the Sabres are looking for after struggling to do so last season. So lets go Darcy keep signing!!!
