Basically, I work for a company contracted by the NHL, my job specifically is to run through the numbers to make sure that they are what the teams say they are. This pertains to the waiver procedure, buy-outs, free agency, pretty much any player transaction... We look through the numbers and make sure that a team actually has enough room for the player's contract for every transaction.
