So, I lucked my way into a ticket because my sister in law couldn't go and my mother in law invited me, bless her heart!

So, I will first admit that this was my first Flyers game at the Spectrum and sadly I imagine it will be my last. But, it was an amazing experience. My mother in law has a good friend who has been a season ticket holder since 1969 and apparently has ridiculous connections with the team. When we got there she took us in a VIP entrance and into an office where she was attempting to get our tickets upgraded since we were supposed to sit in section 417. (By the way, she did, we ended up in 201, row 12) Ok, so no big deal right? Wrong, we're sitting on a couch waiting for her to come back and who walks in but Mr. Snider himself wearing that ridiculously awesome orange jacket! He walked right up to us and asked how we were doing and if we were excited! I couldn't even shake his hand, I was too nervous. But, he was very nice. So, that was cool. 2 minutes later Keith Primeau comes walking in. I looked up right as he was walking up and I said "Hi Keith" and he came over and shook our hands and introduced himself and got a little embarrassed when my mother in law said to him 'My God, You're a big man"...hahaha. The next 10 minutes or so we saw Ed van Impe, Ron Sutter, Steve Coates, and Mel Bridgeman. As we were walking out of the office we also were introduced to Eric DesJardins' beautiful wife (Manon, I believe was her name)and family. I swear on a stack of bibles that this is all true. I couldn't believe it was happening and I told my mother in law at one point that I kept feeling like someone was going to come up and tell us to get out of there at any moment, but on the contrary, everyone that walked by said hi to us and was very nice.

Oh by the way...the pre-game ceremony was amazing, even for someone who is a relatively new fan and didn't get to appreciate most of those guys first hand. And that game was very good too. But the memories that will last a long time for me was all of the stuff that happened before we even walked into the arena. What a day!!!

*I apologize to anyone who also read this in the comments on Timmy's latest blog. It was too good of experience to not share.
