So just a couple things I saw from the Flames tonight:rnrn-Karri Ramo played well, better than I expected. It looked like he was over-committing at times but otherwise was positionally sound. He looked confident in net and I think that he's gonna be a good goaltender.rnrn-The team played very well in the 1st period (clearly) even though Holtby gave up two softies, the Flames dominated the play. The 2nd and 3rd, however, they looked terrible. They weren't hitting, weren't winning puck battles, and basically weren't doing everything they were in the 1st. Very reminiscent of years prior. rnrn-Monahan, like the rest of the team, had a helluva first period but after that I didn't notice him much. I did notice that he wasn't physical at all (I know he's 18 and it'll come just putting it out there). Every time he could throw his weight around a little bit he didn't. I did like the line of Baertschi, Monahan, and David Jones though. They had jump and plenty of skill. rnrn-All-in-all I think this team is a capable of a lot more than people are giving them credit for, as Colin has been saying for awhile now. Aside from a few terrible penalties and untimely faceoff losses I was pleasantly surprised by the team tonight. If they can keep up the tenacity they showed in the 1st all game long then they'll be set. rnrn-Lance Bouma is quickly becoming one of my favorite players. Tons of grit and even has a little scoring touch. Good to see the kid getting his chance in the NHL again, hopefully injuries don't sneak up on him again.
