"The other other opinion in the NHL world."
Rutherford, NJ • United States •
It's been rainy and thundery in Jersey today and it was rainy and thundery for Ben Smith of the Chicago Blackhawks.

In yesterdays pre-season bout between the Hawks and the Red Wings, second year player Ben Smith tied up the game at 3 a piece but did not get to see the end of the game after he was hit in the head by Brendan Smith's shoulder. Ben made a nice dipsy doodle move then was down for the count after this illegal shoulder hit to the face. Brendan received a match penalty and a game misconduct for this hit and I'm sure Shannahan will get to annouce yet another pre-season suspension.

Ben Smith is a very good player for the Hawks and I can see him going very far in the organization as a depth forward playing with Michael Frolik. Smith has had fairly good numbers in his whole hockey playing career compiling points from four seasons on the Boston College Eagles and one season on the Rockford Ice Hogs. With the seven games he played in the playoffs last season he scored three important goals for the Blackhawks which made him outshine others such as Ryan Johnson and Victor Stalberg.

In other news we got The New York Rangers playing in Prague against the Sparta Praha team and Chris Pronger is making his pre-season debut against the New Jersey Devils tonight at the Wells Fargo Center. Both games should be interesting considering NYR hasn't played a Euro team since last season and Chris Pronger hasn't played in an NHL game since before the last post season ended! Pronger is definitely going to be a little sluggish on the ice tonight, no doubt about that. Let's see what he has to say about NJD's top draft pick in Adam Larsson.

Good luck to all teams playing today and may the best teams win!
