Watching tonights Sabres Predators game it seems 2 is the Sabres magic number.
It took until period number 2 for the Sabres to get something going when they got a 5 minute power play when CARLO COLAIACOVO (2 C's) took a two handed cross check to the throat where the Sabres took advantage and scored two power play goals!
Two years in a row the Sabres drafted number 2, drafting Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhardt. Those two are certainly making an impact on the team even though it took #15 twice as many games as the injured Connor McDavid to get to 8 goals.
Tonights starting goaltender was the Sabres number two goaltender, Chad Johnson who was interfered with by ex-Sabre Cody Hodgson when it was 1 - 0. If that goal wasn't called back it would've been 2 - 0.
Number 2 draft choice Sam Reinhardt (2nd over all 2014) had his first multi-goal game, 2 goals. But lets not forget two vets that have made a difference to the Sabres this year is two former Colorado Avalanche players, Jamie McGinn and 2nd rd. draft choice of the Colorado Avalanche (33rd overall 2009) Ryan O'Rielly who had an empty netter tonight.
