No, this is not about the Bills winning it on the final play of the game, it's finally payday for the fourth line of the Buffalo Sabres.
Game in and game out since the first puck drop, the fourth line has been the Sabres' most consistent, hard-working line. Ralph believes in them so much that they're getting their share of offensive zone starts and so deservedly.
When's the last time you heard anyone in WNY say "the fourth line won the game?"
Larsson, Girgensons & Okposo have been terrorizing opposing teams in the Eastern Conference division; Pittsburg, New Jersey, Columbus, Montreal and now it pays off big for the line against the Florida Panthers to the tune of not just one, but two goals. One from the offensive part of the line and one from the defensive pairing of that line.
The play of Girgensons has been stellar, tonight, assisting on both goals.
Finally, someone besides Ted Nolan knows how to handle him. Maybe this year Girgensons will earn a spot on the all-star team from his hard work instead of the fan vote. Just maybe, he'll be the MVP!
Four for the fourth! Raise your glass! here! here!
Girgensons, with 2 assists is my 3rd star of the game.
Linus Ullmarks my #2 star. He put in a stellar performance between the pipes tonight, making numerous great saves throughout the game.
My #1 star is #6 Marco Scandella. Before Marco scored his goal, he made the ultimate save of the game for the entire season of any team when he swept the puck out of the crease as it was lurching towards the goal-line.
The ooooohhhh from the crowd was so loud, and not just on that play. The game was exciting.
Nine out of 10 points within the division this early in the season could make the difference at the end of the season, especially if it gets down to a tiebreaker to make the playoffs.
Thanx to the honest scalper who gave us a great deal on 200 level tickets!
