You Can Learn From A Loss

Fleury.

There I got that out of the way. We all know what happened last night late in the loss to the never quit Columbus Blue Jackets. Fleury gave up 2 very weak goals and the Penguins lost, but as we all know we can changed what has already happened so now its time to focus on the future. The future that we will unfortunately have to wait for until Saturday night.

The Penguins are back at home Saturday night where they went 28-9-4 during the regular season. They have 2 days to calm down and get over the loss to Columbus. Where Bylsma should get the team ready to take over the series. A spark should be lit under the Penguins to get ready for the next game.

They are not a bad team, especially with the 2 best players in the world playing for them. Both Crosby and Malkin have not scored this series and have not scored in the last 8 playoff games. They are too good of players to be held off the score sheet like this. It also leads me to believe with players this good that they are due for a huge night. It's just the Law of Averages that they will get that monkey off their back and when this happens the rest of the now 15 teams in the playoffs need to watch out.

Don't abandon all of the past looking forward if you want to feel better about where the Penguins are at in the series. Just look at last year with the New York Islanders. The series was tied 2-2 after 4 games with the Penguins not playing like them selves at all. They end up winning the next two games to finally take the series in 6 games. After that series they skated all over the Senators in the next round to face the Bruins.

Yes last night was not the best showing for the Penguins after the 3-0 start in the first period, but there is still no cause for panic in Pittsburgh. They have the fire power to turn this around and take the series and move on to either the Flyers or Rangers.

Thanks for reading!!

this is not all on fluery.... yes he made a gaf on a puck he never should have went after, but when his team decided to go into defend mode in the 1st period up 3-0, they gave columbus the game then and there.... so as much as everyone, including bylsma, wants to play the blame game on fluery, you can blame bylsma and the rest of the team for the poor play and bad decisions that led fluery to play that puck that eventually gave up the tying goal

Im only blaming him on those last two goals. Prior to that he was the Fleury of the 08-09 Stanley Cup runs. There was nothing he could do on that 5-3, but the last two goals really are on him.
