One of the biggest storylines of the season is the Minnesota Wild and Devan Dubnyk who will be facing off against Central Division leaders the St. Louis Blues. Dubnyk (.936Sv%, 178GAA with the Wild) started 39 out of the Wild’s last 40 games of the season. He took the Wild from miles out of the playoffs into clinching the top wild card spot in the West. Many thought Dubnyk would tire out but he continues to play well and will look to take the Wild far in his first postseason. On the other hand the Blues have had trouble picking the goalie for their game. They have gone for the less experienced Jake Allen (.913Sv%, 2.28GAA) over the veteran Brian Elliot (.917Sv%, 2.26GAA). Allen played very well at the end of the season which has given him the chance to play in game 1. The Blues have one of the best defences in the league, with guys like Alex Pietrangelo, Jay Bouwmeester, Kevin Shattenkirk and Barret Jackman. They also have one of the best breakout players of late Vladimir Tarasenko. Tarasenko had 37 goals, 36 assists and 73 points in 77 games. He has also had many highlight reel goals this season.

The Wild will have to get great goaltending from Dubnyk to be able to win the series. Game 1 will go to the Wild thanks to some incredible goaltending from Dubnyk (yet again). Game 2 will go to the Blues with their offense taking over the game and beating Dubnyk multiple times. Game 3 and 4 will be the end of Dubnyk’s great play due to fatigue from playing too many games in the past couple of months and the Blues ill have a chance to end the series in game 5. The Wild will be able to overcome Dubnyk’s bad play this time in game 5 with their top offensive players playing outstandingly. Game 6 will feature Darcy Kuemper but the Blues will prove too much for the Wild and the series will end after 6 games.
