Yesterday Marc Bergevin signed Jeff Petry to a 4 year extension @ 6.25 per year. I liked the move, it was a good signing.

But this team still sucks. They can't score. Sayin the issue is anything else is bulls***.

Bergevin has been super active so far this offseason. He has signed Allen, Edmunsun and Petry.. yet not one forward.

I know he could be getting his ducks in line before a big move; but somehow I doubt it. This team hasn't had a legitimate top line scoring threat in decades. The last player to break the 80 point mark was like Alex Kovalev like 15 years ago.

I'm at the point where I don't care how many defenseman+ depth forwards we add. Either Bergevin brings in legitimate top line help, or this offseason gets chalked up as another failure.

What do you think, another barn burner of an offseason for Montreal, or has management finally gotten it?
