A giant sigh of relief came when MLive published comments saying Larkin was “a definite possibility” for Saturday’s tilt against Nashville. https://www.mlive.com/red...for-saturdays-opener.html
That is the frail state of the season. A season I, and others, expect to be rough could be disastrous if we lose any of our 4 best forwards. There will be “palatable” moments in those shifts that encourage optimism. Without that, its that much harder to watch.
I fully expect Nashville to take the game. Though we did well against them last year, Duchene is a game changer. I don’t think he gets nearly enough credit for how much he brings to the table. Arvidsson, Forsberg, Johansson, all have the ability to create.
What I will be looking for is a solid game. Our team needs to be ready to outwork everyone else. If they do that, then there is hope that this bunch is heading in the right direction. Every bad line change or shift that they aren’t sharp will lead to a really good chance against. It’s just reality right now.
I’m excited, but cautious with expectations. Just hoping to see growth and direction this year. Let’s see what happens.
